A fresh outlook

The lighter evenings mean evening walks along the sands..........

The swing boats wait for new customers and at sea a boat sails by .......

Sunday afternoon walks in the sunshine

Blue skies and beach huts

In the garden the "Thalia daffodils" have started to bloom

The heavy rain over the weekend left water droplets on the primrose, another flower reminder of Spring!

It's nice to see and feel the change in the seasons .Sadly again this weekend more birds have been washed up on the South West Coast covered in more of the glue like substance, as mentioned in one of my posts in February. It appears that ships have again been cleaning out their tanks at sea.

Welcome and hello to my new followers Rusty Duck, Swallow barn and Andamento thank you for joining me and also to everyone who reads the blog or leaves me comments.
Hope you are all having a good week,
Sarah x

  1. I have yet to take an evening walk along the beach. But the lighter evenings certainly make living by the sea even lovelier!

I love the beach huts too.

  2. I can't wait for the weekend to come so we can do this. Evenings normally mean up for school the next morning and I'd rather wait then have sore heads (for children) in the morning.

    I love your evening walk.

    Love the boat swings.
How awful that the tankers have leaked their oil again. Those poor poor birds. Its so sad.
Your flowers have popped up. Sorry about the rain. I hope that you get some good weather soon.
We have had 3 perfect days so far.

Hope that you can read my posts. I have suggested to some friends, to join my site again..it has worked.

  7. Living by the sea offers great pleasures and if we go away , we understand better the richness and the preciosity of the sea. Me too, I enjoy walking along the coast, fortunately I can do it whenever I want.
    Warmest regards dear Sarah !

    1. The beach huts are in Weymouth in Greenhill gardens, I would love to have one there! Do they look similar to yours? The last time I photographed them was in December with frost on the roofs much nicer in the sunshine!

  13. I so want to play in one of those swings.

My sister is working 2 weeks in London and 2 weeks in Los Angeles for the rest of 2013. I retire in June and am hoping to invite myself to the company apartment in London. And then I could sneak out to the sea in Dorset.

  16. Good evening dear one. Well, spring is taking its time here, but today was promising, with a thaw of the snow!!!! Lovely beach scenes always bring me back here to listen to the sound of the sea. Hugs to you and Daisy girl! Anita

  17. I love hearing about the seasonal changes and the adjustments in routines as a result. I've been pondering my changes as autumn settles in and I love them. Summers in Australia are very intense so I tend to emerge from the humid cocoon into autumn with a feeling of lightness. (I'm so glad you and your siblings stay in touch xx)

  20. Hello Sarah,
Oh beach huts, they are just so appealing on so many levels...I think Magpie should get one...I shall nudge her!!! Lighter evenings are such a boost aren't they? Have a lovely week,

  22. What great photos. I used to love these swing boats as a child and you don't see them so often now. Smart beach huts, smarter than in Lee-on-Solent which are all dark green, quite an unsuitable colour, I think.

  23. When days are longer and lighter we try to go for an evening walk whenever possible, it's such a relaxing way to finish the day. Do you stay and watch the sun set?

  26. Lovely pictures of sunshine and flowers, thank you Sarah. So sad to hear about the birds. The people who flush their tanks at sea should by rights pay for, clean and care for the birds they pollute, perhaps then they would consider their actions more carefully.

  27. Evening strolls are lovely now that the weather on the odd occasion helps out! We got caught in the rain on Sunday and got a bit of a soaking!

  29. Hello Sarah,
Lovely photos. Sorry to hear about the birds. Hope they will find a better way to clean their boats. There must be, with all the technology out there. We are feeling here in the western part of the states the change also. The days are becoming longer and more time to be out in the garden. : ) Have a wonderful day.

  32. Our Thalia daffs are not open yet, but we do have February(!)Gold, Jenny, and Tete a Tete, and am hoping to see the display around the city walls in York this weekend.

  33. These photos remind me of childhood holidays when my parents always rented a beach hut - as I write I can recall the smell of the sea and the damp sand in the hut. We would pack the hut full of buckets, spades, swimming rings, towels and costumes, not forgetting our little primus stove for making tea and coffee.
You are very fortunate to have the beach on your doorstep and to be able to take walks along it whenever you feel like it.

  34. A real joy to see these beautiful photo's again. It must be nice to live near the see. So sorry for those birds. And an answer to your comment on my last post (I'm sorry, I know I'm late)it was nice to read it. And here in Holland the extanded mental health hospitals in the country side were also often closed in the 80ths. It didn't always worked out very well, patients who lived there for ages had to addept to live in a city like Amsterdam again. I remember sad things happening. Groetjes, Gerda

  36. Meine liebe, kleine Meerjungfrau,

  38. Thank you Sarah for your comment on my cards. I wanted to use more of my stamps but the papers were busy enough. I see you have a Pintrest and I just took a quick look. Wow, it is pretty. I need to come back with some coffee and take a better look at it. Pintrest are like mini magazines without the advertisements. I do not have one at the moment but maybe soon. Thanks again for your visit and and have wonderful day. It's almost the weekend too!

  40. If only I could live at the sea! Wanderlust overcomes me when I see your photos! My daffodils just opened on Tuesday! When I walked to work this morning I saw two trees in full bloom - at first I did not see them but I smelt their sweet fragrance... a wonderful surprise although the weather forecast for the weekend is bad... rain and snow and back to the cold... there is still some time though for summer to come!
