Oh I do like to be beside the seaside - in Cornwall!

On our recent holiday in Devon we had only been away from the sea less than 24 hours and we headed down to the Cornish shore at Whitsand Bay. (You can never have too much of a good thing!)

The shoreline is very different to back home and the last few times we have been down in the area the tide has been in - hiding this magnificent view.

As you pass the gorse bushes you catch the smell of the coconut scented flowers.

From the top of the cliffs the people walking along the beach just appear so tiny.

Tavi's favourite toy at the moment is this red ball and string he just loved running along the beach after it!

I am publishing two posts in one today so if you have not had enough of the sea come over and visit the shoreline of Dorset here too !

  2. Lovely photographs of a completely different shoreline - you obviously cannot get enough of being beside the seaside. Tavi looks like he's enjoying himself too on what looks like a cold and blustery day even though the sun is shining

  14. Ah, memories! The last time I went to Whitsand Bay was on a field trip for A level Geography some forty eight years ago. Very interesting rock strata, that I do remember. Lucky Tavi having such a wide beach to run and play on. He really is a sweet looking little dog. Is his name short for Tavistock, or is it just a Scottish sounding name?

  15. Tavi is short for Tavistock. We love this area of Devon, it does seem to sort him too! Sarah x

  18. Hello Sarah,

The sea is such a draw whatever the weather. Indeed, when the sea is rough and wild, that is possibly how we like it best. And, Cornwall has such a marvellous coastline sprinkled with glorious hidden coves and the most amazing sea stretching for ever. Yes, as we write this in landlocked Hungary, we certainly wish we were there!
