We seem to get such a boring mix in our local San Diego markets, but further north in California there are more varieties. I miss having decent cooking apples though, and on our recent trip home to Cornwall, I picked the ones from our small tree and enjoyed making blackberry and apple for dessert with clotted cream. Yum!
