I love trains and have taken many. I used to have to take a train to go to high school. I also liked to take a train to Normandie like Deauville from Paris, that did not take long. Of course the first time I went to London I took a train from Paris to Dieppe for the ferry, then a train to Victoria. My latest train ride, and it was a beauty, was last October from Nice to Monaco.

One of my favorite train rides was in the Yukon, Canada. It was a very small train, the one they had built for the gold rush, and it went over tall bridges over rushing rivers. I used to love taking the night train at Gare de Lyon going to Italy. I would go to the restaurant compartment first, and would try to get up during the night when we stopped in Switzerland to buy chocolate! Another neat little train is the one going from Nice to Digne through the Alpes Maritimes – beautiful views too. I also took a very fast train in Japan and the TGV from Paris to Brussels. Unfortunately there are not many passenger trains left in the US, and it’s a shame.Vagabondehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10774109692564954568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3522710068688445614.post-8410485800568098762013-04-16T13:32:09.753+01:002013-04-16T13:32:09.753+01:00Hello Sarah, I was wondering if you could give me...Hello Sarah, I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how you put your videos on your blog??? I love steam trains and have travelled on the Paignton to Kingswear Line. There are so many others to do! The carriages remind me of travelling on holiday to the coast as a child-with corridors and compartments, and little sliding windows. I travel the Paignton to Exeter line regularly with work and always stop to look out,its so beautiful, but its quite surprising how many people keep their eyes on their laptops and phones.SeagullSuziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15857680854262709165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3522710068688445614.post-8249968268481664422013-04-14T20:21:41.580+01:002013-04-14T20:21:41.580+01:00The most memorable train ride I took near water wa...The most memorable train ride I took near water was around a cranberry bog in Massachusetts, USA, but my most favorite spot in all the world is on any ocean beach. Your blog name popped up when I was checking out a new blogging friend's blog. I am adding your blog to my blog roll so that I can get to know you better [and admire your lovely photos.:)] It takes several hours to get to the ocean from where I live now near the base of Mr. Hood. For seven years I was able to live two blocks from the ocean on the northern California coast and I miss that everyday joy although I do enjoy the beauty around me here and sharing it through photos as well. Once we brought home the most enormous piece of driftwood which had been a tree; it only just fitted in the car. I used to travel along that line each year when I visited my father after my parents' divorced. Put on the train in Cornwall, then arriving at Derby. It has sad memories especially on the way back knowing I wouldn't see him again for a year. Great post and I love that video.
Ruth xOhSoVintagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07130228440172446040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3522710068688445614.post-28969815692081615002013-04-13T21:35:11.846+01:002013-04-13T21:35:11.846+01:00And your dream finally came true. I have been up and down like a yo-yo for the last 6 months as SMother has now moved up to live near me. I had one memorable trip late last year, when the weather was dreadful. We were slowly chugging along through Dawlish and suddenly there was an almighty CRASH and a wave just covered the carriage, it made everyone jump!! The force rocked the carriage, was glad the weather had improved by the time I headed back home that day!! On a sunny, calm day it is the best view ever!!! I shall miss my train trips!! I have now exchanged a train jaunt along the coast for a bike ride along the canal path!!rabbitquilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02613054286672505217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3522710068688445614.post-16089988103111582972013-04-12T19:41:22.037+01:002013-04-12T19:41:22.037+01:00what gorgeous photos, it looks just stunning.

Alas train journeys are a real novelty here, our region has not had trains since the 1960s when the lines were ripped up after it was decided that it was not feasible to join with the rest of the country due to the terrain.
