On the beach
As I drove into town this morning the sea looked like a sheet of glass and shopping was momentarily forgotten as the pull towards the water was too hard to resist.
The deckchairs were all out lined up waiting for customers and someone had already made a sandcastle before 9 o'clock in the morning!
The video isn't billiant as I was trying to capture the waves rather than the views!
There was even some early sunbathers, getting the best position on the sand!
I couldn't resist a quick paddle even though it meant sand in my shoes for the rest of my shopping trip!
As I finished my shopping the beach was getting more busy and with good weather forecast all weekend it looks as if it will be a busy weekend down on the beach.
I hope the sun shines for you whatever you are doing this weekend.

Thank you, I've been wanting a paddle all day! :) x
ReplyDeleteLovely little post!
ReplyDeleteI love the sea and the waves, too! Hope the sun shines for you and me, too, but unfortunately or luckily, I'll be working in my garden instead of going to the seaside ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen the sea in the UK looking so calm. Love the early sunbathers too, don't they look chilled out!
ReplyDeleteWhat an exhilarating start to the day! Oh to live close to the sea. Have a super weekend. It's promising a scorcher.

ReplyDeleteLooks like summer has landed in your part of the world. How lovely this is.... I can almost smell the sea and hear the waves.... Thank you!

I love that Punch and Judy tent, it's been years since I saw one of those. I love the beach when it is deserted like that xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely looking place, I think I couldn't have resisted the call of the ocean.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is really lovely- makes me want to visit the sea! CT x
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could have resisted going down to the water either! :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved listening to the sound of the waves; it's perfect on a hot day. The cloudless sky and blue sea are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI wish I were at the seaside today and everyday come to think about it! Looks lovely and yes, the sea does look like a sheet of glass.
ReplyDeleteThat sea is amazingly flat calm, I'm not surprised you took a photo! x
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah for your nice wishes and just love your photos. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful there - so calm. I love early visits to the beach when its nice and quiet. x
ReplyDeleteI really like the early mornings, before everyone is up and milling about. Love the seagulls on the beach-they look very comfortable. The sun has been shining all day.
ReplyDeleteOh looks idyllic. I wish I lived by the sea especially on days like today (hot and sunny)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend x
I love the sound of the waves and it does look like a sheet of glass! X
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful setting.
ReplyDeleteOur beach has been lovely lately, but the sun is tending to come and go all day. Right now it is out, but I am busy trying to finish up a sewing project.
Picture postcard perfect .....

I love the sound of the sea, it's very soothing. I couldn't help noticing the bright clock on one of your pictures, do you know if there's a story behind it?
ReplyDeleteThe clock is the Jubliee clock it was put up in 1877 to celebrate Queen Victoria's 50 year reign.

Hi Sarah, love your photos! There's certainly more a seaside holiday atmosphere down in Dorset than here in Southsea, I wouldn't be able to avoid a paddle either! We're having beautiful hot weather down south (as I'm sure you are) and the beaches are packed, as are the roads down to the seaside! Have a lovely week. Sharon
ReplyDeleteWOW !!! What a way to start a day. I loved the sound of the waves. I wish I could sleep to that. Nice sand castle too. Well the seagulls know how to live don't they...LOL
ReplyDeleteWonderful post ,

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful your beach photos are and will be a great place to spend some time on a hot summers day there.
the light always looks so beautiful in the early morning and yes, the sea does look like glass.
Happy new week

After watching that little video I am longing to dip my toes into the sea ... oh how I miss it when I'm away from it!
ReplyDeleteI love to come to your blog and see what new pictures you have published – they are always so beautiful and show your idyllic area – today the beach looks perfect under the pretty blue sky.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty waterfront - I'm glad you stopped and took photos to share with us too.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually praying for some rain but I appreciate you kind thought. Your place looks amazing and I felt the serenity of that early morning moment.
ReplyDeleteSorry I wish for some rain for you too. Having had such an awful summer last year the sun and warmth is a bit of a novelty here!

Hello Sarah, I would of been distracted too.. Thanks for the video of the waves rippling to the beach..One could image they were there listing to the beautiful sounds of the sea.. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteYou don't often see a flat sea like that, no wind at all. It must have been a warm day because of the early sandcastle.Lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, Sarah, thanks for a visit to the sea...sights and sounds :)
