Through the Garden Gate - November 2022

The garden is covered in faded glory this month!  Due to lots of wet and windy weather we haven't spent much time in the garden. November is meant to be one of the wettest months here!

We moved the viburnum tinus, which is in a pot closer to the kitchen window, it is a cheerful sight while doing the washing up!

The honeysuckle in the hedge is full of flowers, there are still some roses in bloom and the azalea has attempted to flower again, although it was slightly hit by one night of frost!

The curly kale in the greenhouse is growing well and we have even had the first daffodil flower. This was from one of the bulbs we bought back from the Isles of Sicily last year it is obviously an early bloomer! I keep coming across reduced bulbs in the shops that I can't resist I just need to get out and plant them!

It is always wonderful to see other gardens from around the world and share our love of gardening. If you want to join in with Through the garden gate please let me know in the comments below and I will add you below.

Wishing you all the best for December!

  1. Faded glory indeed. So much colour still. My sons viburnum has totally shrivelled in the summer drought. Hopefully it will recover. I can just imagine the scent of that honeysuckle. Happy December. B x

  2. I haven’t grown kale for two years now. It may be time to try it again. That stuff would last a nuclear event.

Love the blooms you have this late in the year!

  3. I had a Viburnum tinus growing in a pot but had to get rid of it as it kept being taken over by Viburnum beetle. I was sad to see it go as it had been a lovely shrub and the flowers have a lovely delicate smell. Your curly kale is doing much better than mine on the allotment. Hope you have a lovely Christmas xx https://margaretspatch.blogspot.com/2022/12/through-garden-gate-november-2022.html

  6. So much to love in your garden no matter what time of year. I have just planted a deep red dahlia in a pot with baby's breath and white petunias for Christmas.
