Through the Garden Gate February 2024
Frustratingly another wet month in the garden and the chances to get outside and do very much in the garden have been few and far between! On some of the few occasions when we have had a sunny day, we have had a full diary doing other things! So, some images of spring appearing in my garden accompanied by water drops!
The work on replacing the old wooden surrounds on the vegetable and cutting flower borders has been hampered by the weather!
Locally the snowdrops season was earlier and didn't last long. We managed to have an afternoon out to visit East Lambrook gardens to glimpse a few of the later varieties flowering. They had so many different varieties - some of which were for sale. I particularly liked one (not photographed) in a 23 cm pot but not the price tag of £50! Imagine buying it and it not surviving or being eaten by mice! Following images are from East Lambrook Garden.
It is always wonderful to see other gardens and watch their development during the year. If you want to join in with Through the garden gate each month please let me know in the comments below and I will add your site.
The weather has been awful and like you, Sarah, the better days have often clashed with us doing other things. But it's good to see the spring flowers appearing and how lovely to see displays of snowdrops. My blog is here: https://margaretspatch.blogspot.com/2024/02/through-garden-gate-february-2024.html
ReplyDeleteLooking colourful despite the rain. You always do so well with your snowdrops. B x
ReplyDeleteThe rain has been plentiful here for the last few days but not enough to take all the snow. I love these blooms!
ReplyDeleteWe also had a rainy month. The snowdrops on the last picture look perfect.
ReplyDeleteWe ran errands yesterday and as we reached the end of the driveway, I noticed a daffodil blooming I had planted 20 years ago when we first moved to this house. It had been ripped from the old garden and stuck in the first spot I reached. It has spread to a nice little clump with a few blooms. It can't be seen from the house but is a gift from me to people passing by.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you allowing me to pass by and enjoy your garden.

I need to organise my bulbs better, so I can enjoy them.
