Through the Garden Gate October 2024

The  October garden is full of a palette of crimson and gold this month as the leaves flutter to the ground. It has been quite mild too allowing us to get out and catch up on some much-needed jobs around the garden when it hasn't been raining!

This is the first flower of this cosmos, for the first time ever I had problems raising seeds and had to keep retrying! I got there in the end but it is shame that we won't enjoy them for long!

Sorry, it is short on words this month it's half term here and we are busy in the centre with lots of children's activities!

What are the highlights of your garden this month?

It is always wonderful to see other gardens and watch their development during the year. If you want to join in with Through the Garden Gate each month please let me know in the comments below and I will add your site.

  3. Lovely, especially the cosmos. I planted a summer mix in May and the cosmos flowered early. Their seed is sending up seedlings everywhere.

  4. All that is left in my veggie garden is kale and parsley. They must like cool weather. My cosmos bloomed and bloomed this summer. Most of them are gone now.

  5. I love the way your sedums thrive. We really struggle with ours. The light is wonderful this time of year shining through the plants. Your garden is doing well this autumn. B x

  6. My garden produces enough seedlings to fill any gaps that open up. But I still treasure bulbs I grew from seeds.
