April shades of blue from the bluebells to the sea
The end of April and beginning of May is the time for the bluebell bonanza in the local woods! Appearing for just a few short weeks a year it is always something to look forward to and it never fails to disappoint unless you get there either at the beginning or end of flowering! As we walked through the woods we tried to guess the number of flowers it contained millions and millions!
This is our local wood and we just hade to take the coastal route back home and enjoy some seascapes too! During lockdown we were up this way once a week, but as our lives have returned to normal and our energy levels over the last few weeks have been less with the aftermath of Covid this was the longest walk we have taken for a while! Over in the distance is Lyme Regis and white chalk cliffs of Beer.
As we head homewards (the pier sticking out to sea in the distance) is West Bay we noticed fresh earth lying on the cliff and remembered another landslip had occurred in the last month.
The fence posts that edged the top of the cliff are now hanging in mid air and are a reminder that this is a ever changing landscape and it is always wise to stay away from the top and bottom of the cliffs.
Lovely to see such beautiful scenes. The colour of that sea! Glad you are getting out and about again. Looking forward to seeing your April garden. I will try and post. Blogger is having a moment and I’m struggling to comment hence why this is anonymous. Barbara x

ReplyDeleteWe spent time along the coastline here yesterday. It was scary to see how much coastline has been lost the last year.
ReplyDeleteThe blues in this post, from sea to bluebells, make me smile!
