The fall and rise of the sea
There is nothing quite like walking along a deserted beach and your feet and the dog's paws leaving the first footprints in the fresh sand. This is at Ringstead Bay a few miles/Kms outside Weymouth where I live.
I captured this on video too, so hopefully this will roll you forward into a relaxing weekend.
See you soon.

Oh that video is lovely, a real treat for the very landlocked me! There's a place not too far from me that, at 77ish miles, is the furthest it's possible to be in the UK from sea. I wish I could see that sight more often, it's so relaxing!
ReplyDeleteIt is so beautiful. I love that stretch of coast.

Oh there is nothing as calming as a sea, thanks for sharing the video..
ReplyDeleteDevon
Magical, listening to the sound of the sea while looking at these dreamlike images!
ReplyDeleteThank you and Happy Valentine's Day,
Merisi
Love the sound of the sea! Wish I was there.
ReplyDeleteLovely video - almost as if you are there.
ReplyDeleteYou really captured the essence. There is nothing more relaxing than hearing the waves hit the beach. You are one lucky gal to live near such beauty! X
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have ever mentioned it, but many of the lanes at our little beach have British names:
ReplyDeleteDevon Lane, Weymouth...Bath...Cornwall...
Ours was originally New Brunswick but has been shortened to merely Brunswick. Since there is a new Brunswick, I assume that there is a Brunswick in England.
My husband is home from the hospital and the first thing we did was take a long walk along the beach today. It relaxed him.
There is a village in England which was renamed Brunswick. I think the name originates from Germany. I suppose as people emigrated they named areas after where they had previously lived.
DeleteI hope being by the sea helps to speed Steve's recovery.

The colors of the sky and the sea are so beautiful but listening to your video brings me up there with you. I can almost smell the sea air and I certainly can hear the sea and the birds in the background – thank you – it’s lovely.
ReplyDeletegorgeous! i love the muted colour.

Beautiful photos and video Sarah. When we go on hliday we always stay at the seaside and we love going for a walk by the sea very early in the morning when there's no one about and then later in the evening just before sun setting, it's very calming.
ReplyDeleteHello Sarah:
ReplyDeleteIn landlocked Hungary, we certainly miss the sea, so this has been a wonderful way to start our day. There really is nothing like the sea, in all its moods, to lift the spirits and calm the soul.
Good morning sweet Sarah and Daisy! You are right my dear; there is nothing like walking on the beach, leaving imprints. The beach has a way of leaving imprints in your heart and mind as well, and I will never forget my experience with the beach. Growing up near the water has left an impression on my that now that I live VERY FAR from any beaches, I dream the ocean constantly!
ReplyDeleteThank you my dear for wandering over to my post. I actually did not intend for it to be a Valentine's post; I am so behind on posting and I wanted to simply translate the French song that I found to be IRONIC and beautiful, into English with words and photos.
LOVE TO YOU ALL YEAR ROUND! Anita
That lovely sound! I did a series of paintings called 'Holiday Morning'in which I tried to capture that new day feeling when you are the first to make footprints on the beach....lovely video Sarah.
ReplyDeleteYes ! Rolling me majestically towards the weekend, beautifully put!! Thank you:~)
ReplyDeleteAww feels like I am there....
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sarah, it is truly beautiful...

There's nothing more calming and relaxing than listening to the sound of the waves on the beach
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea doing the video, might have to copy that if you don't mind. I am looking forward to taking my new puppy down to the beach for the first time when he has had his injections. Think he might love the water as he already comes into the shower with me! Beautiful photos and I love the sound of seagulls; we hardly ever hear them here because we have no cliffs.

Lovely photos - I have enjoyed a doggy walk on our nearest beach this morning too. Although it was a lovely morning so we weren't the first to make footprints.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of waves crashing onto the shore. Thanks for showing this.
ReplyDeleteJune
Lovely Sarah! The sound of the waves and the seagulls... We are only 25 minutes from the coast. And should go far more often.
ReplyDeleteJust what I needed, thank you, another dose of sea air, if only virtually. Oh how I envy you living so close to the sea!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. The hypnotic sound of waves breaking on the shore and those soft, half-light colours over the bay. Thank you for a relaxing start to the day!
ReplyDeleteLiebe, kleine Meerjungfrau,
Alles Liebe Babsi
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
